最近、中国やロシア、中央アジアの国々などがどうしてあのように振る舞うのか、疑問に思っている人が少なくありません。以前推薦した、中国の秦漢体制の政治文化を扱う本と同じく、そういう人におすすめの本です。
私達が学んだ世界史では、ユーラシアの陸権国家、つまり、モンゴル＝ペルシャ＝テュルクの流れを組む帝国たちの統治理念に焦点を当てることは少なかったと思います。この本を読んで、私は今までと違う世界史の見方を学びました。
（世界中で話題になったこの本は、ここ台湾でも繁体字中国語版が出ていますが、日本語は残念ながらまだです。それで、推薦文だけは日本語で書きました。）
If you are like me, i.e. have paid little attention thus far to the history of Mongol-Persia-Turk empires on Eurasia, this book is for you.
Just like the book I previously recommended on the Qin-Han political systems under comparison with the Westphalian regimes, this book will revolutionize the way you look at the world history, and shed light on why countries like China, Russia, and Central Asian republics behave the way they do.

海洋の歴史を知ることは、英国やシンガポール・台湾、そして我が国のような、大陸の直ぐ側に浮かぶ島々の繁栄の理由を理解することです。

And understanding the history of sea is essential for understanding such flourishing island nations with at the gate of continental land-powers as Britain, Singapore, Taiwan, and of course, Japan.

I always remind myself to step out of my comfort zone and step into the chaos out there because we just can’t make the chaos disappear. That’s how it is. But it would be so much better if you start doing it while you’re still young. That’s why I recommend this book to you.
Don’t worry if you find this book a bit difficult to read at first. That’s normal. Reading it in Japanese might not make it much easier either, although you could try. You might want to try his YouTube channel, which has nearly five million subscribers. [Jordan B Peterson - YouTube]
He also has an official Japanese channel, but there aren’t many videos yet. Maybe he’ll upload more videos when more Japanese speakers have subscribed to it. But you’ll find many more videos with Japanese subtitles uploaded by other people if you search ジョーダン・ピーターソン on YouTube.
