『The Freedom Writers Diary: How a teacher and 150 teens used writing to change themselves and the world around them』

The Freedom Writers with Erin Gruwell Broadway Books 2019年
This book is a supplement to the film, “Freedom Writers”, which students will watch in my CEP 1/2 class. The book talks about social issues that also happen in Japan, such as diversity, racism, discrimination, immigration, and gang violence. It teaches values like tolerance, acceptance, understanding, open-mindedness, and forgiveness.

The book introduces students to the art of debate, one of the major speaking activities in my CEP class.
